Boggle is a word-finding game for two or more players. You need a game board with 16 letter dice, a dome-shaped cover, a timer, and some paper and pencils. Here are the basic steps to play Boggle:

  • Put all the letter dice in the game board and put the cover on top.
  • Shake the board to scramble the dice and make sure each die is in its own space.
  • Flip the timer to start the game.
  • Find words by chaining letters that are touching vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. You can’t use the same (same die) letter twice in one word. Words must be at least three letters long. Write down all the words you find on your paper.
  • When the timer runs out, stop writing and compare your words with other players. Cross out any words that are duplicated or invalid.
  • Score points based on the length of your words. The longer the word, the more points you get. For example, a three-letter word is worth one point, a four-letter word is worth two points, and so on. Add up your points to get your total score.

The player with the highest score wins the game.
