Wooden shoe 11 ¾” long carved and used by John Daniel Malan—very good in the mud and manure of the 1860’s – note the 130 year old manure and water marks on sole. Probably made about 1860-1870. His was the second family in Italy to join the L.D.S. church in Piedmont and Bartholomew was his 9th child.
