Kenneth Spencer’s picture of harvesting man with a Husker steam traction engine was a great joy of mine because of the smoke entering the cloud and the sun hitting the red part of the Husker’s wheel. I felt it was a bargain at $1500. And the painter was able to recall it when I met him at an art exhibit some years later. The picture also was meaningful to me because it depicted a world I could never enter, the outdoor work in hay and grass of summer which my whole life gave me horrible allergic troubles. His smaller oil “The Careen Windows” came along 2-3 years later and evokes the early morning walks in autumn with his wonderful use of textures and colors. I believe the sky would not still be so blue if there were evening autumn shadows. It was the best in his show and a bargain at $1120.

WOW! Some great pictures, and some information that I had either forgotten or never known!
